Today Merissa and Mike from chester zoo came to talk to us all about litter and how important it is.
First some people got to go to the front of the class and were acting the story of how litter travels around the world. Liam was the person who threw cans in a bush. Harvey was chopping down the trees, Ellis then dug a big hole! Peter then poured acid down the hole. Keleigh was the aeroplane who flew the aluminium to the countries and Ruby then drove it to different locations.

It really hit home just how much devastation throwing a few cans in a bush could cause to both the rainforest and our environment.
Then we got to touch a polar bear skull it was heavy and it was very bony after that we got to touch a dead sea turtle it felt soft . Later we got told by mike that the most dangerous animal was an elephant so we got to hold elephant poo it was gross. However did you know it makes a brilliant fertilizer!!!!
Finally we got to play a card game. Everyone got a card with a type of material on it and we had to guess which one took the longest to decompose.
Some took 2-4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 1-5 years, 10-20 years, 50 years, 200 years, 450 years and forever and it turned out that the glass jar takes forever to decompose. In other words make sure you recycle them!
